okay so just said that we all remember we're recording today right so I might have to repeat your question or something just so that we have it on audio we're going to go over test taking strategies with second time eating a lot of nice appreciate you coming back we're going to do a couple of strategy discussions and we're also going to talk about if you want to take the ACT another time because that has been a huge question for those who have taken it here at the school cuz it's different so we're going to talk about that as well and you are going to be working with your book that you had from last time you're going to take half of a test again like we did last time and then we'll start we go through and what the answer sheets are giving you information on so it's just so important that you get the whole picture all right okay so just right so here is some information for everyone for a long time Act was only something that you could take if you paid and registered to take it it is given at a lot of high school sometimes libraries offer it but the ACT is only given on specific days so there's just things that I didn't know make sure you guys are aware but your act is going to be given here next month it's free for your for the juniors right you may want to take it more than once when I was younger we took it they say 3 * I don't know that that's still something I don't know if 3 is like a magic number but my tested my test score went down one time and up one time they will use your highest and I want to make sure that you guys are aware of all those pieces before you are on before you leave here today so this is a ct.org this is where you go to actually sign up and take another test so your March test you don't sign up for you don't pay for your welcome write that kind of things not really me but that it's already planned in your day and that it's already paid for it's huge then I also like you to know that if you would like to take it again you have to register quite a few months ahead of the next test so we haven't test this weekend and the next one that you can register for I right now April 2nd and you want to register by February 25th to avoid late fees you guys were are all going to be seniors next year and in that first couple of few months of school we're going to it's already put him play but you have you car which is Utah college application week and please make sure that you read your student email everyday because your student email is where you're going to get everything about like scholarships and different information on all the information when the college's come here next year it's all going to be through your student email so that is huge that you check that every day and stay up on it so I'm when you are looking or when you're preparing for that during your you call week the Utah college application week you guys are applying for colleges right then any ACT test you've taken up to been up to that point in time you can use when you register to do the ACT you can choose the college's you want your score to go to if this first when you don't choose call does 42 go to it won't go anywhere so then you'd have to pay money to get the scoring and send it in so it's just some things that you just don't know to know right that ACT score for the ACT test that you take this time common be on your college transcript so it will be there for you when you're applying to your colleges that is probably the two most important things that I want you to know that when you sign up on here to take different when you have to pay money do you choose a site that you're going to be taking it out and 3 you're going to want to choose the colleges that you had that that test go to so questions about that I think the fee is close to $70 to take it so I left you guys get that for free any other questions good with that oh my gosh don't raise your hand raising I'll look it's going to be on your transcripts that's exactly what it's going to be and when you are when you are filling out your information you also have places in there that dare questions yes no I don't but how many are we missing who doesn't have one now when serious about 3 or 5 okay I think I can probably find five more back there with other counselors so give me just a minute on that all right so any questions then on act college applications take it multiple times anything else are you guys nervous okay no no good yes I am sir I'm nervous and I'm not even taking it I hated taking test and I know I said that last time it was so stressful for me so I'd like you to remember what I said last time it's just so what it's an adventure thank you your mind is really amazing but one of the things that scientists and data can tell us is that thinking of something as an adventure thinking of something as an adventure is much better in your brain for being able to stay in in the frontal lobe and the test take you Prodigy area and just being able to think through and process things much better so if you find yourself getting stressed think of it as an adventure we talked about sitting back and opening up your chest and taking deep breaths right all of those pieces are just little strategies that can help you working it because we're needing specific time for me to go and get a couple more but I'm going to turn off this recording you guys are going to get ready just give me five probably a minute and I'll go get the other five bucks and then we're going to do it flipped today so today we're going to talk about we're going to have you take the test number going to talk about test taking strategies through what you find in your answer key write like there once you get right and wrong and we'll work through that in
