just so much we are going over our ACT test at this dude is just check and that's this is bad for you right now so you're going to score your own the information in the back so you have probably on page 57 58 in yours you'll have the key for the reading section what you just did you to take a moment and I'd like you to screw it in this book so that you have you know which ones you missed in what area is okay so it has super number one if you're in the green book your number one is and it also is telling you that the information came from Craft and structure so we're going to break this down. This is the important part they were doing today so make sure you squirt and recognized which areas that you did well in and which ones you're going to actually write them down your Russ or on page 58 you guys are hand when you're done screen it alright you can keep this working quietly if you have a few more to do everybody else look up here so that we can move through this really quick so on that page where you had your answer so for this book is Page 58 it also gives you information about the reporting categories which we talked about so I'd like you to add up how many you got correct in each of those areas so he ideas if it was a key idea it will be don't have a slash mark under kidson how many you got right that were key ideas and details and you're going to put that number over on top of or in the blank for key ideas and details then you're going to add up I'm your craft and structure so out of all of those that you got correct in that category of craft and structure and then the last one is ik I was transferring to creation of knowledge and ideas add up how many you got in that area okay now I also want you to remember that you just had passes the time with three interruptions so give yourself a little bit of slack but multiply how many you got right by two just like kind of consider it that way if you who remember to like bubble in the rest of your answers I don't know if that would have been very fair today but when somebody says you have 5 minutes remaining please how many you have left to answer on that section and please don't forget that you do not get marked down for incorrect answer so it's best to choose a letter of the day is Bill it in all right now this information that you've been given gives you a raw score so the number that you got right in total you're going to multiply that by 2 or just going to go straight that that's a good reference number and then you're going to look at the raw scores so in this book is on page 59 and in your book what page is it on your page 60 yes so you're going to look at how many you got right X by 2 in that half of the time. And then you're going to look under your test 3 for reading you're going to find number area and then you're going to slide over to the left or right and it will give you the scale score k the next part I think it's just is important you're looking at the breakdown of how many you got right or wrong in each of those categories it's going to help you recognize where you need to study or improve right so if it's Chi ideas and details will just be things that are right there for you to see within the reading assignment if it's the integration and knowledge of ideas that's you connecting the points that the author made with in that paragraph for that stands or whatever they're giving you I think it's really important for us to recognize our strengths are right and then to look at or being aware of where maybe maybe you want to study same with not that'll give you an idea like is it more geometry or algebra they might be here so it's going to give you information on what how you did and what areas do we want to improve on does anybody have thoughts or questions on just this part especially the reading I think this one's a good one for you to just kind of recognize that the information is there for you you're not going to be tested on outside knowledge of something right it's going to be within the document that you're reading time but you may have to infer with what the author is speaking about or integrate some information that's questions how did you guys do does anybody have a strategy that they use in this one what is a okay good so you filled in blanks but then you had extra time so then you went and did as many more as you could buy really doing them awesome yes okay and did you get him right though cuz the integration sometimes okay so who doesn't that way who reads the full passage first and then the question okay and who did a reverse way like you read all the questions and then you went back and read your document and some of your not telling me what you're doing but I do want you to know at least for me it was nice to kind of have an idea of what questions they would be asking but sometimes it would trip me out because then I would be looking for just that answer and it wouldn't really be reading so the ACT you to read the full document first then to look at the questions for me and I kind of did a mix of that I at least wanted to know in general what they were asking me and then went back and forth all right so if you had double the time would you have been done is just a good question to recognized right the idea of pacing ourselves so every every every every time you take the ACT you will have 35 minutes and there will be 40 questions on reading it doesn't change right so as you're  yourself just kind of remember in your mind okay this is one that I have about one minute per question or whatever and then you can kind of watch the time at up up on the screen and then just give yourself a little bit of a check-in I wouldn't do it like once or twice I wouldn't freak myself out about every five minutes but you can kind of recognize like I should be about halfway done about this. Of time and that was helpful to just do I need to move a little bit faster in my dream because the timing was what was frustrating to me as taking the test so I just wanted to give you a little bit of strategy that way and then your directions the directions are not going to change so as you read the directions in this book you can just know that those are going to be your directions on test day for those as well so it's nice to kind of set yourself up self up now knowing what does the English test say what the reading test stay in the mouth and so forth so that's something that you can cut yourself on now so that you're just aware of what you're watching it too it's much worse if you are going into something and you don't know what to expect I'd like at least if you know what to expect it's not as you're not being surprised by anything and you kind of had that feeling of a k i done this I kind of know what I'm I'm up to right now I think those are my main things I do want you now to look we're not going to take any other tests but I want you to look just at the math and English reporting so on the map screen. page 57 so it's probably like 58 in the other books to write in there if she was 5957 and 59 we have those for you but I would like you to recognize that down here in the mouth is going to tell you how many or what area is reporting category as those questions came from I Love Math I don't let me rush so this was a good one for me to look at and then just recognized oh sorry just brush up on your geometry or you know like look at that one again so that was helpful for me because it's an area I like so I kind of felt I don't know better about myself I guess because I was looking through that one yours might be reading or English or whatever right we all have different strengths and that's okay but do the one that you have strengthened so that you can see if there's any nuances that you can catch and do just a little bit better on that I'm in your English scoring should be on page 56 or 58 but that one is going to walk you down the production of writing itself or knowledge are you getting a language question or conventions or standards which doesn't make a lot of sense until you start reading what the question was in that specific category that so helpful when you're trying to see where your strengths are and then last time we did the science so I'm not going to go over that one today but remember in general if you are sitting down to take the science it is problem solving and you're just on an adventure I like you're just looking for problem stopping we I want you to remember that in science as well as reading they're going to throw in like a big word but they'll just find what it is that we have guinea pig last time it was some animals but there was a big name in the science section because remember for me it was nice to just circle kind of keywords or things that would help me I wouldn't have to go back very far to find the information so that might be a strategy also that you want to use okay I think we're actually almost out of time which has been decided just anybody have any other strategies are thoughts that they wants to share out today hey yes you guys are awesome thank you so much screen and we will see you guys later
