Instructions for candidates

 

 

Please read the information contained in this packet.   The information pertaining to the various categories is taken from the material sent by the Deseret News who, along with KSL, sponsor the Sterling Scholar Program.  The criteria for judging candidates within the categories is set by the Deseret News and will be followed here at Copper Hills High School. 

 

To apply in your selected category please complete the attached cover sheet.  Attach to the cover sheet the following:

 

  1. A transcript of credits from Copper Hills High School. (It does not need to be an official copy).

 

  1. A resume that lists your accomplishments in these three areas
  2. Scholarship
  3. Citizenship
  4. Leadership

 

  1. An essay 500 words max, typed, in which you respond to this statement:

 

The standards of a Sterling Scholar, scholarship, citizenship and leadership have been exemplified in the way I have conducted my life through…

 

If possible use specific examples or stories of the criteria identified in the essay statement.

 

The application is due to Dept/Category Chairperson no later than 3:00 P.M. Thursday Sept 28th.

 

NOTE: The chairperson of your category may ask you to provide additional information.   You will be expected to provide any information requested on or before the due date.
