Valedictorian & Salutatorian Applications

Copper Hills High School is pleased to announce the application process for the Valedictorian and Salutatorian honors for our graduating 12th graders.

These distinctions recognize students who have demonstrated the highest levels of academic excellence and dedication throughout their high school careers.

The Selection Process

Recipients are chosen based on a comprehensive rubric that evaluates:

  • Cumulative GPA

  • ACT Scores

  • Course Rigor: Including Honors, Concurrent Enrollment (CE), and Advanced Placement (AP) classes.

The 12th grader with the highest rubric score will be named Valedictorian, and the student with the second-highest score will be named Salutatorian.

Important Note on Rigor: Because course difficulty is heavily weighted, a 12th grader may be selected as Valedictorian even without a perfect 4.0 GPA.

How to Apply

12th graders MUST APPLY to be considered for these honors. Students who do not submit an application by the deadline will not be included in the selection process.

  • Requirement: A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.85 is required to apply.

  • Deadline: April 24, 2026, by 11:59 PM. (This is a firm deadline).

  • Application Link: Click Here to Apply

  • Alternative Access: The application is also available on your Homeroom CANVAS course.

Recognition & Notification

  • Notification: Recipients will be notified on or before May 12, 2026.

  • Graduation Speaking: Both honorees will be invited to speak at the graduation ceremony. While this is a prestigious opportunity, speaking is not a requirement to receive the honor.

We look forward to celebrating the incredible academic achievements of our 12th-grade class!
