like I said before we're not going to use the book very much when you're here you're the book is great if you want to do some practice problems and I really encourage but I'm here to tell you the rundown and then we're going to practice buckle whatever you call me whatever you want request a flight 2722 phone number to take advantage of. If you want me to lock you and be like, what are they talking about you a couple can I give you some information today. do you like which ones to do and I think you'll be surprised I wish somebody would have told me this stuff when I was taking it so the first thing but I want you to know okay this is a national test everybody takes you are more than prepared kind of I'm going to say that kind of you have seen everything that's on this test before can you have animals see what I mean by that if you are preparing these are the things that I suggest that you do learn what types of questions they're going to ask you cuz there's a good like 75% of the time these Quest they're going to be on it today so if you know those man you're ready roll okay do not practice things you already know that's a waste of time k-frog is the things you struggle with and I'm going to show you I'm talking to okay but here's how scoring Works cuz I only have 60 minutes if you're a math person a minute for Christian I'm going to maybe be bugged out a little bit today this will be the Shocker for you this is just a spark but this last section 8 years has NASA average is around a 21. Is a 50% on the test how does getting 30 questions out of 60 questions right on the 21 I'm not usually I should be able to get half of them right now especially when I tell you this I feel 60 Questions 33 of them are algebra greatest question if you look at this 13 free algebra that's math 8 that is stuff you learned as an 8th grader if you are Advanced maybe is it or whatever kind of them are secondary math one that's time figured that stuff you did before you were even here gate to the hardware is going to be at like digging deep rolling back trying to figure out when the heck you are not okay and then none of them are intermediate algebra. Secondary math 2 second battery that's like your factoring problems Chase Factor you got those pictures of cool thing if you get all of those right that's a 22 on the ACT we have to do the other one it's possible the other 23 or geometry something unfortunate I feel like you don't get enough okay that's like finding the area that's like plotting points to make a square stuff like that okay with you haven't done much of or Circle remember doing circles play for like a hot second so that's what I'm going to tell you this for all of you making this assumption that would be the area that I practiced I would look at question that had a shape on it and I will do that one okay and then the other one look at this 33 + 23. 56 look at the other four trick question tell me if you're doing trig right now if you're in second grade math 3 or 3/8 you were doing it or you just finished it right if you're doing Law of Sines law of cosines graphing sine graphing cosine right triangle trig you just did that but guess what that's more questions that is really do a whole lot you don't really need that but if you remember it you just crushed those four question okay so here's my tips for you and this is take it for what it is these aren't like Miss muscle Macy's up cuz she just has no life in this sit there and tries to help UK themselves the most difficult questions and I'm going to tell you the test is formatted easy to Heart somebody has made it in this kind of rightly some easy medium kind of on a hard hard question so the last question you see on the ACT for going to be hard K chill right now and this might make some of you feel really not good okay to admit to not even worrying if you even get to the last 10 questions like what okay because it would eat question whether they're hard or not you don't get bonus point for answering a hard but they're all worth the same so spend time on those first one getting those right Beto's points in that makes sense. I'm going to see a minute on average per question but if it takes you a little bit longer at the beginning if you don't get to the last ones don't worry about it don't worry about it they're going to take you longer than a minute anyway okay. Does not mean you leave them blank we're going to we're going to fill in everything does that make sense you have anybody have questions I'm not I know that feels weird for some of you especially maybe like my type A honors kids is like what I have to get to if you have time yeah but you don't have time that's okay okay next thing find a weakness to tell you right now knowing you and being a teacher and I've done this for quite a while your weaknesses play to be geometry so probably next class imma spend a lot of time on Geometry topics okay so if you can't be there find the video they but if you can rearrange your schedule be here or talk about okay and then break down the number of questions I already told you so I'm not going to really spend time on the biggest 77% of the test is algebra which is solve for x that's what it is but it might look different cuz it might be in a story problem or it might be or might have a picture to it I know everybody story problems or will I get it a lot of the ACT story problem a lot of it Jake practice practice practice you got booked but use it I'm going to tell you this is Miss maisel this is me on my own little self box don't just sit down and be like, do this test and don't give yourself like there's no time or straight you're using whatever is more effective for you to be like I'm going to do the first time questions must that my phone timer for 10 minutes k cuz it's not like it's going to be hard getting through it or go practice. Today k let's see if I want to talk about it I'm kind of talked about this when you do study this is I would make sure that you know and when we do stuff today if you get a question right because you knew it I would market like if you got a question right because you guessed good job I'm guessing but maybe that's something you need to study right don't be like all your I got it guest right good job okay next thing experiment with different you know these strategies plug in numbers process of elimination all that stuff like that use different approaches I'm going to tell you and we're going to go through some problems and you don't have to know everything about math to get an answer hey you don't have to know exactly how to do it. Use the tools you know plugin answers and I'm going to show you two of them every single time I be like there is no way in there so it's not I'm not going to take that once let me send K monitor your time biggest thing is they're still have a cough it up what does great don't stress out about it if you're on question 20 and there's 30 minutes left the biggest number tell you about this is there's going to be a time when the Proctor goats you have 5 minutes at the moment you hear that you go into turbo mode and paste do olivieblake K and then someone please tell me do I pop around and just this one but if you're shooting the same way all the time can't decide you're going to get one of them ready but if you're like this you could get all the letter of the day and don't do this because it always be or secretory see cuz imma give you the I don't know if they told you this throughout all force that has act that use the letter A the same amount of time the letter be the same amount of time so it's never skewed one way it does that make sense cuz they're all is the same amount of times weird I think this is a test that they give and I would be interested if anybody does this please come back until May because I personally don't know if I could do this text me out a little bit but they say bubble all your answers at the end what but they said that they did a study on it that said you waste time going math okay what problem okay make sure you have done a multiple-choice that's where you're bubbling and you screwed up those bubbles at some point of time do what Their devices and I'm just giving it to you I don't know if I could do it I think I would but their advice is when that five-minute warning goes off that's when you start buzzing you go 182 might be interested. I know I don't think it's going to make you do any worse I would just be interested to see if you got through the test faster maybe maybe do it when you're doing 10 problems how many set your timer maybe give yourself to 10 problems and then do like a one-minute warning and bubble tea if you get to I don't know that's from them I don't know cuz you're a program that way but feel free plus one is guest on everything okay and when I suggest that everything that doesn't mean like cuz I see this every time I Proctor there's someone who's done and there's like what are you doing I know I can't even read the problem they don't guess everything's about to him don't leave him questions or anything on the form of how that goes
